On July 31st, 1992, KMXX ("Mix 101") switched to AAA as KZON ("The Zone"). The "Zone" would flip and changed it's format several times throughout the years. In 2013 the station would rebrand itself and become Live 101-5 shifting it's playlist to more mainstream. In 2016, the station would change it's call sign to KALV-FM.
