Hot Sam Pretzels was founded in Michigan in 1966. The first store opened in Detroit at Livonia Mall. Hot Sam's was a franchise with stores located in malls throughout the US. In 1995, Hot Sam's was acquired by Mrs. Field’s and by 1996 it was merged under the Pretzel Time brand.
